Our children are our future, and what better way to inspire them toward excellence than to show them the fun of music, movement and storytelling! Our literacy-based musical presentation demonstrates many different concepts and relationships. As lifelong educators as well as professional musicians, we know just how to reach youthful audiences. We perform our high energy and fast paced interactive presentation, designed for children and adults, at assemblies, festivals, and libraries, as well as private parties. It is a great way to keep kids interested and involved in positive messages, as well as foster deepening relationships with peers and family members.
Performing traditional children's favorites, as well as the new, tried-and-true songs of our musical contemporaries, we, “The Graham Crackers”, tie in our own snappy original songs. Literacy and memory skills are reinforced with engaging stories, such as the African folk tale Abi Yoyo and our “Nursery Rhyme Rap”. Repetitious refrains and chants make all of the songs and stories easy for children to become active participants of each performance. Adults, as well as children, will find themselves engaged and interacting, bringing back memories of their own musical childhood.
Our presentations are divided into two categories: an interactive music and movement show designed specifically for preschoolers through age 10 and a summer library program highlighting books and stories that feature music and songs. Whether we are “Shaking Our Sillies Out”, doing the “Hokey Pokey” or “Rock and Roll Freeze” we will all be ready to warm up our voices with friendly and familiar songs as each performance progresses.
During our “Summer Songs and Stories” library program we will all learn the backstory of the song “Take Me Out to the Ballgame” and what has happened in history since “I Was Born About 10,000 Years Ago”. We will celebrate peace and courage as we explore “The Great Peace March” and find out that we may know more sign language than we thought we did as we sing and sign “The Itsy Bitsy Spider”.

Each presentation, lasting between 40-50 minutes, is unique based upon the venue, occasion and the age of the target audience. Our school-aged presentations are easily divided into two separate shows, PK-2nd Grade and 3rd-5th Grade, but as a whole are fun and appropriate for all ages as well as family members. Families really share something at our shows. We always feel very touched when we see parents and children leaving together holding hands, singing a song or chanting a refrain. We know they really have been connected with each other and that the stories and music have contributed to that.
